The highlight of the ExCo 20 was the proposal of a new Annex 9: Flexibility Markets – development and implementation, including the designation of Dr. Iliana Cardenes, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, United Kingdom as the Operating Agent, and looks forward for its initial Programme of Work.
ISGAN is proud to announce Brazil as it’s newest country member, thanking Mr. Cyro Vicente Boccuzzi, president of Latin American Smart Grid Forum for his support. Also, Israel is highly interested to join our ranks and during the ExCo we had the pleasure of having Dr. Yael Harman Head of technology and renewable energy, the chief scientist office of the Ministry of Energy in Israel as an observer.
Regarding the strengthening of ISGAN international cooperation during ExCo20 we had interactions with IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (PVPS) represented by Stefan Nowak, PVPS Chair and IEA Hydrogen Technology Collaboration Program (HTCP) represented by Paul Lucchese, HTCP Chair alongside presentations from IEA Secretariat and CEM Secretariat.
During the last ISGAN ExCo20 meeting, ISGAN Annex 6 Power Transmission & Distribution Systems hosted a side event that showcased the recent work done within the Annex.
Based on the experiences from various projects and work within ISGAN annexes, a workshop was organized by the ISGAN KTP Team as the other ExCo side event. The challenge addressed in this workshop was the barriers for knowledge flow and engagement between stakeholders at national level with the international level, and vice versa.
